Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce the signing of extreme modern metal act System Divide , featuring Sven De Caluwe (Aborted) and Miri Milman (ex-Distorted) on vocals, Cole Martinez (ex-Years Of Fire, Antenora) and Joseph Spiller (ex-The Binary Code) on guitars, Andrew Lenthe (Antenora) on bass, and Mike Heller (Malignancy) on drums.

Austin-based solo blues-rock performer Dax Riggs has quite the musical past, having fronted various sludge, metal and indie bands in the '90s and '00s before debuting his own material as a solo artist in 2007.
The interesting this is that he manages to incorporate various elements of those past influences into his wide and varied sound now.
Basically: This is rock 'n' roll--and in its purest form, in a sense.

During the Christmas season in 1961, a grade-school girl walked into a record store on 86th Street in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The dollar bill she exchanged for the No. 1 pop song of the day, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" by the Tokens, represented a month's allowance.
It was the first, but certainly not the last, record Barbara Underhill ever bought.
When she was a bit older, she attended many of the now legendary rock 'n' roll shows produced by radio disc jockey Murray the K and presented at the Fox Theater in Brooklyn.

Not many bands can claim to have altered the trajectory of rock 'n' roll with only their third single, but The Kinks managed to inject something primal into the mix with 1964's "You Really Got Me," and fourth single, "All Day and All of the Night" only cemented their place in rock's primary '60s blueprint pantheon.
That they followed these raw marvels with SO much amazing music is particularly impressive.

A DIVERSE line-up of stars are tuning up for the final few days of an annual music festival.
Hundreds of people have already enjoyed a range of entertainment since the launch of the East Durham Music Festival at the beginning of October.
And the Durham County Council-run event will finish this weekend with a final selection of toe-tapping performances.

Planetary Nights' debut album "Elliptical Motion" is as singer-songwriter RJ McSweeney describes it "original Americana rock n roll".
It was produced by Mark Hermann and includes Rob Clores (Black Crowes) on keyboards and percussionist Graham Hawthorne (David Byrne).
The opening song"Road Trip", was recently licensed by ESPN as the theme song for a twenty segment series, "Mort Goes to Camp" and was also extended for SEC and Big East Conference College broadcasts.
